OP Green Arrow: ENL agents from Quebec and Ontario unite to capture 99,797,884 MU
It all started after an operation that the Montreal and surrounding area team did in November. It was my very first Op and I was one of the operators that night.
I was really pumped when it ended and so I told one the people in charge, @mascouboubou (whom we like to call "the laying hen" because he can "lay" Ops after Ops), that I wished I could have a more active role in the whole process. See, I live in a small city called Alma, which is a good 5.5 hour drive from the city of Montreal so I didn’t know how difficult it would be to set something up. @mascouboubou told me “No problem, we’ll do the next with you”. I can’t tell you how excited I was.
A few days later, he told messaged me: "We can do 78 layers with Alma, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu and the cities of Cardinal and Iroquois in Ontario". A field with these anchors would cover a whopping 26,000 square kilometers with the longest link being over 500 km.
This news got me very excited. I started farming keys not knowing when the plan would become a reality, since we also needed to figure out a way to swap keys. A request for key transport has been made to the community and I was very happy to hear from agent @khmorr who said he would be visiting family during the Holiday season nearby. Awesome! Key transport is settled!
But alas - the notice was a little short and we weren’t able to gather keys from the other anchors fast enough. Nonetheless, @khmorr and I met up and I gave him the Alma keys I farmed. By then, keys from the other anchors were ready and we needed to arrange for transport again. This won’t be easy, since few people make the trip between Alma and Montreal.
I told the group I had a training course in Quebec City (half-way between Alma and Montreal) in April and agent @asiatiki volunteered to drive to Quebec City and meet me. I was sad that we had to put operation on ice until then. April seemed so far!
But then a new agent, @BlameYourself, came forward and said she was ready to do the key transport if that was the only thing preventing us from implementing the plan. We couldn't believe it. So lo and behold, @BlameYourself drove 12 hours back and forth from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu to Alma to meet me. The operation was back on track again!
A vote was made to find the best date and checkpoint for everyone involved and it was the 10pm checkpoint of January 26, 2019 that was chosen.
On the day of the OP, they started clearing blockers during the day. Everything was fine until 6:40 p.m., when Ontario agent @revengeofzorg told us that he didn’t have enough agents to take out 3 new blockers. Ok, my stress level has now definitely increased tenfold.
But thanks to the quick reaction time of our community, agent @Jarujan, who was on his way to Montreal from Ottawa, offered to turn back and destroy the three blockers in question. This little "detour" actually extended his trip by 2 hours. I think it's important to mention that @Jarujan was also the one who drove 2 hours between Ontario and Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu to swap keys with the Saint-Jean team.

The evening progresses without any other problems, except that it’s freezing cold outside (-31 Celsius, which is equivalent to -23.8 Fahrenheit) and that my – and my co-linker @plsimard – fingers are completely frozen.
A little before the checkpoint, we started throwing links. It was amazing to see all these green triangles forming above us. This operation made it possible to close more than 46 fields and score 99,797,884 MU for the Enlightened. Over 79 million mind units were scored for the 10 p.m. checkpoint.
Three agents from Ontario and 2 agents from Quebec got their Onyx Illuminator badges thanks to this OP.
I would like to thank everyone involved in this major operation. It was my first OP and I can’t wait for the next one!

Opération Green Arrow : Des agents d'ENL du Québec et de l'Ontario s'unissent pour capter 99 797 884 MU
Tout a commencé après une opération que l'équipe de Montréal et des environs a effectuée en novembre. C'était la toute première opération à laquelle je participais et j'étais l'un des opérateurs cette nuit-là.
J'étais vraiment excité quand ça s'est terminé et j'ai dit à l’un des responsables, @mascoubouboubou (que nous aimons appeler "la poule pondeuse" parce qu'il peut "pondre" Ops après Ops), que j'aimerais pouvoir avoir un rôle plus actif dans le processus. Je vis dans une petite ville appelée Alma, qui est à 5,5 heures de route de la ville de Montréal, donc je ne savais pas à quel point il serait difficile d'installer quelque chose. @mascoubouboubou m'a dit "Pas de problème, la prochaine fois on la fait avec toi". Je peux vous dire que j’étais content.
Quelques jours plus tard, il m'a envoyé un message : "On peut fermer 78 couches avec Alma, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu et les villes de Cardinal et Iroquois en Ontario. Un field avec ces ancres couvrirait une énorme superficie de 26 000 kilomètres carrés, le lien le plus long étant de plus de 500 km.
Cette nouvelle m'a beaucoup emballé. J'ai commencé la collecte des clés sans savoir quand le plan deviendrait réalité, car nous devions aussi trouver un moyen de s'échanger les clés. Un appel à tous a été fait à la communauté et j'ai été très heureux d’apprendre que l'agent @khmorr venait rendre visite à sa famille pendant le temps des fêtes. Super ! Le transport des clés est réglé !
Mais hélas - l'avis était un peu court et nous n'avons pas été en mesure de récupérer les clés des autres ancres assez rapidement. Néanmoins, @khmorr et moi nous nous sommes rencontrés et je lui ai donné les clés d'Alma que j'avais ramassées. Peu de temps après, les clés des autres ancres étaient prêtes et nous devions organiser à nouveau le transport. Ce ne sera pas facile, car peu de gens font le trajet entre Alma et Montréal.
J'ai dit au groupe que j'avais une formation à Québec (à mi-chemin entre Alma et Montréal) en avril et l'agente @asiatiki s'est porté volontaire pour aller à Québec et me rencontrer. J'étais déçu que nous ayons dû mettre l'opération sur glace jusque-là. Avril semblait si loin !
C’est alors qu’une nouvelle agente, @BlameYourself, a dit qu'elle était prête à faire le transport des clés si c'était la seule chose qui nous empêchait de mettre en œuvre le plan. Nous ne pouvions pas y croire! Alors voilà, @BlameYourself a fait 12 heures de route ALLER-RETOUR de Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu à Alma pour me rencontrer. L'opération était de nouveau sur les rails !
Un vote a été tenu pour trouver la meilleure date et checkpoint pour tous les participants et c'est CP de 22 h du 26 janvier 2019 qui a été choisi.
Le jour de l'opération, le nettoyage des liens se passe quand même bien. Tout allait bien jusqu'à 18 h 40, lorsque l'agent ontarien @revengeofzorg nous a dit qu'il n'avait pas assez d'agents pour faire tomber trois nouveaux blockers. Bon, mon niveau de stress augmente.
Mais grâce au temps de réaction rapide de notre communauté, l'agent @Jarujan, qui était en route vers Montréal à partir d’Ottawa, s’est offert de rebrousser chemin pour aller détruire les trois blockers en question. Ce petit « détour » lui a en fait rallongé la route de 2 heures. Je pense qu'il est important de mentionner que c'est aussi @Jarujan qui a fait 2 heures de route entre l'Ontario et Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu pour échanger des clés avec l'équipe de Saint-Jean.
La soirée se déroule sans aucun autre problème, sauf qu'il fait un froid glacial dehors (31 Celsius, ce qui équivaut à -23,8 Fahrenheit) et que mes doigts - et ceux de mon coéquipier @plsimard - sont complètement gelés.
Le go est lancé tout se passe très bien. C'était incroyable de voir tous ces triangles verts se former au-dessus de nous. Cette opération a permis de fermer plus de 46 champs et d'obtenir 99 797 884 MU pour les ENL. Plus de 79 millions de mind units ont passé le CP de 22 h.
Trois agents de l'Ontario et deux agents du Québec ont obtenu leur badge Onyx Illuminator grâce à cette opération.
Je tiens à remercier tous ceux qui ont participé à cette opération d'envergure. C'était ma première OP et j'ai hâte à la prochaine!
