Shōnin 2 Final Results:

After losing the first Shōnin Anomaly to the Resistance by a razor thin margin, the Enlightened launched a major comeback.  Their massive Fielding Operations dominated the day, blanketing Austin, Atlanta, and Las Vegas for nearly every Measurement. In addition to an aggressive Field strategy, the Enlightened assumed an equally assertive posture on the ground at the Primary Site of Austin. Although the Resistance held Medellin firmly in their grip throughout the Anomaly and succeeded in a heroic last minute push to reclaim Las Vegas, they were ultimately outmatched by the Enlightened’s show of force. 

In the wake of today’s Anomaly, news is emerging of a massive XM event at the 13MAGNUS nest in Afghanistan, an ancient Portal where powerful and undeciphered technology preserves Hank Johnson’s body.   

The Indian Biotech researcher known as Jahan was attempting to conduct a summoning ritual that she hoped would bring the N’zeer back into this world after thousands of years in exile. According to her, their arrival would bring forth a new era in human consciousness, a future beyond the Darsana Point. Others disagree, most notably Hank Johnson, who has called the N’zeer the Shapers’ worst nightmare. 

After using Hank Johnson to locate the Shōnin stone, a transdimensional artifact that some say witnessed the birth of the universe, Jahan took Johnson and Azmati captive, forcing them to lead her to the 13MAGNUS nest.

There, she planned to ride a wave of Resistance XM activity during today’s Anomaly in an attempt to tear down the ancient barriers that had kept the N’zeer locked out for millennia.

If that was her plan, it seems that things may not have gone her way. While the Enlightened may no longer be able to stop the N’zeer from arriving, they’ve made it clear that their struggle is not yet over.
