Celebrating #Mangalyaan 's month in the Mars Orbit
On our homepage today, we're celebrating India's Mars Orbiter's first month in the Mars orbit with a #GoogleDoodle .
Mangalyaan ("Mars-craft" from Sanskrit मंगल, mangal "Mars" and यान yāna, "craft, vehicle") , the Indian Mars Orbiter entered the Mars orbit on 24 September, making India the first nation in the world to successfully launch a Mars mission in its maiden attempt.
