Communities can now enable or disable the “Ask to join” button

One popular request has been to allow communities to change whether members need to be approved before they can join a community. Today, we’re happy to announce that we're giving moderators the ability to make that change - even after the community has been created.

Public communities can now change between “anyone can join” and “ask to join.” Private communities can now change between “hide it from searches” (invite-only) and “people can find it and ask to join”. (It’s important to note that this doesn't allow communities to change between private and public.)

To see it in action, click on the gear icon on the desktop’s community page, select 'Edit Community', and scroll to the bottom.
