Do you know anything about police procedure?
I've got to find a helpful police detective to ask about police procedure here in Cape Town, but I wondered if anyone here is knowledgeable enough to help me pick the most likely scenario to ask about.
A body is found on a popular Cape Town beach (Sea Point). The beach is busy but the spot the body is found (the place where Graaf'sPool used to be) is relatively isolated, at the end of a walkway. It is not clear how the person died, it seems to be as a result of a fit of some kind, but violent crime cannot be completely ruled out, there is blood on the face and hands. The name and number of the person's sister are found on the body. Which of the following is the most likely?
1) The police cordon off the area and calls the sister to come and ID the body on the site.
2) The body is taken to ... where? A police morgue of some kind? And the sister is called to ID the body. In this case, would other people who are not family be allowed in with the sister, to look at the body as well?
Any help or insight much appreciated

The usual scenario would be the scene would be documented filmed and photographed the coroner/doctor would declare the body deceased and the body removed to the mourge where once located the sister or another family member would identify the deceased if required they may be accompanied for support purposes only.
