My first Hangout App
Spent the last hour playing with the Simple Hangout App and created an extension to display an iframe within a hangout.
I'll be using this to display a web-based group chat that's embedded on my website along with the live stream of an HOA. The viewers will be able to chat while the live broadcast is streaming and we'll have a transcript to share at the end of the session.
Why use an embedded chat instead of comments on a Google+ post? Some of the viewers of this HOA might not be on Google+ and we don't want to exclude folks or have them miss some parts because they were signing up to send in questions.
#protip : If all your viewers are on Google+, use the Hangout Comment Tracker app instead.
Will be playing around and tweaking this a little bit more. Will keep you posted on the developments :-)
