Q: Cyberwizard Productions - While I understand the need for speedlock for things such as hacking and deploying on a portal, I do not understand why recharging remote keys is subject to speedlock. You don't have to be at a portal in order to do that, so my question is why is remote recharging of portals subjected to speedlock. If I can be sitting at my desk on the other side of the country and recharge a portal, I should also be able to be a passenger in a car and recharge the same portal.
A: Unfortunately, not everyone that claims to be a passenger is a passenger.

As our Ingress events draw near, the process and policy of selecting points of contact (POC) to assist Niantic has recently been revisited. Going forward, we will be reviewing POC nominations and reserve the right to refuse anyone for any reason. TOS violations will result in 12 month (Anomaly) and 6 month (other Ingress events) exclusion from being eligible for POC duties from the date NIA OPS took action against the Agent.

In addition, the members of our Vanguard program will be assisting Niantic in collecting the nomination information from the various communities and forwarding it on to be evaluated by NIA OPS. The current list of Vanguards are:

Agents,
Five years ago today the research vehicle known as November Lima 1331 made its debut. Taking to the streets of Austin, Texas - the van set out with the mission of bringing Ingress events to as many places as possible. Much like many things related to XM, NL1331 was an experiment, and one that when it set out we weren’t sure if it would be a success. We’ve been overwhelmed by the devoted Agents who’ve followed the journey since that fateful day five years ago.

Since the maiden voyage, NL-1331 (and its various evolutions) has been deployed to over 40 countries, traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, and met thousands of Agents along the way. As we enter this next year of exploration we hope to meet even more Agents on the road.
