In response to the increase in questions surrounding faction changes, we've put together a quick faction change FAQ:

Q: How long will it take for my faction change to go through?
A: Faction changes are currently taking 6+ weeks to process

Q: Can I still play while I'm waiting?
A: Yes; there is nothing stopping you from honing your Agent skills while you wait.

Q: Will I lose my medals when I change factions?
A: No, you will not lose your medals. You will, however, lose all of your inventory and AP. In addition, any Resonators that are deployed at the time of the faction change will be destroyed.

Q: Someone submitted a faction change request for my codename that I don't want. Help!
A: Reach out to us via private G+ post or via the Help Center:

Q: How many times am I allowed to change factions?
A: We will grant one faction change per player (all time).

Q: I got an email saying that my faction change is complete, but my Scanner is still showing me as my old faction.
A: You may have to force a sign-in by force stopping the app. If that still doesn't work, please reply to your confirmation email, and we're happy to help you.

Q: Is deleting my account the same as a faction change?
A: No; if you delete your account, you cannot reuse your email address, and your entire account (including medals) will be completely deleted.

Q: If I delete my entire Google account, will it also delete my Ingress account?
A: Yes.
