#ingressreport from India - a roaring start to #13Magnus

All in A Day’s Work*
coz it was business as usual for the ENL
The day of #13Magnus dawned with a lot of excitement. While agents in Bangkok, San Jose and Los Angeles were all geared up to defend their faction, the Enlightened in India huddled together chalking out their plans to help shift the Global MU count in our favor. This was a collective effort spanning the lengths and breadths of India - from agents on the ground in Gurgaon - Pune - Hyderabad - Mysore - Trichy - and support from the rest of the gang on Intel and Comm.
The biggest challenge - waiting for the right time to strike to help our fellow agents in Bangkok. After checking and cross-checking the event details and the time-zone conversions multiple times (shout-out to Agent CrazyJC for handling this), we impatiently waited for 12:30 pm to strike. And the wait was worth it: we ended with a total of 140 Million MU taken down and 54 Million MU added which assisted in a positive impact of 90 Million MU globally (at the time of the final measurement for Bangkok).
The day started with jubilation in the Smurf colonies and the COMM burst out with congratulations across the country. The Delhi Smurfs had just created a multi layered field clocking up an impressive 140M MUs. We had intel on this Op but assumed they were planning to execute it during the event. But it looks like they either missed the memo or were misled by their own. Our eyes lit up when we saw the large fields showing up on the Intel map and we eagerly started re-calculating the MU gain this could bring us.
Delhi: 140 Million MU down
Was it a stroke of bad luck for Smurfs or the effect of XM that Agent TheWanderingGod happened to be present near the anchoring portal on which rested 140 million MUs. Agent TheWanderingGod zipped through the tests he had come to write and braving hunger and caffeine-withdrawal symptoms, patiently waited for the clock to strike 2:45 pm IST. A mere 15 million MUs a few hours ago, the Smurfs were blissfully ignorant of the fact that they were actually helping spread the Enlightenment.
What seemed like an easy target had it’s own share of hurdles. The portal being in a private property, Agent TheWanderingGod had to whip up all his negotiation skills to convince the security guards to let him in. Once in, he focussed on the task like a well trained assassin and brought the portal down despite the Smurfs trying to distract him on COMM with taunts and appeals to meet. The field went down, bringing down the MU count by a whopping 140 million MU but the task was not complete yet. He held fort on location until 3:45 pm IST and left only after he confirmed that the event was officially closed.
Mysore & Kolar: 30 Million MU down, 10 Million MU up
Agent atombomb and Bonfire85, excited on the first big op after recently hitting L8, ventured on a 280km bike ride to Mysore to take down the anchor portal "Mysore palace." With just 5 minutes remaining for the final measurement and fighting their way through the Dasara crowd, they took down the portal connecting to Hampi, Hosur, Tumkur and Hindupur, bringing down the MU count by 30 million. At the same time, Agents sheldor and cyanox were taking down Koti Lingeshwara in Kolar and prepping it up for the link. The links between these two portals and Bethel Church, Coimbatore, shot up the Enlightened MU by 10 million.
Trichy: 30 Million MU up
The Trichy trip seemed jinxed right from the start. Just two days before the event Agents*theDriftKing and codred had made 20 million MU field between Trichy, CBT and Kanyakumari. When the rules were revealed they knew what had to be done. The 20 million MU field was ADA'ed at 12:15 pm reducing our the Global MU count for Englighted just before the event in Bangkok started.
The agents then went on to hack Srirangam, planning to be on time to rebuild it. The drive started with taking a wrong turn, Agents thedriftking and 00se7en lost track of time in nearby Srirangam hacking portals for keys, and had to rush through the rest of the 30 minute route to make it in time for the measurement deadline. But all’s well that ends well - and it ended with a glorious 3 layer field connecting Trichy to Coimbatore and Kanyakumari, bumping up the Global MU count by 30 million MUs. Kudos to Agent thedriftking for the awesome driving (and bringing them both back safe) and for selflessly sacrificing his own portal, and Agent codred for links between Coimbatore and Kanyakumari.
Hyderabad & Pune: 14 Million MU up
Agents HashiramaSenju and QuliQutbShah drove 70km from Hyderabad to reach the key anchor portal in Vikarabad. In coordination with Agents Savyasachi from Warangal, Radioactiv9 from Pune and samuraiX from Hyderabad, they successfully created fields totalling 14 million MU, pushing the Enlightened dominance even further. As delightful side effect of this, Hyderabad, which was already an Enlightened stronghold, was completely engulfed in green yet again.
