Really fantastic demonstration of what you can do when you step away from the restrictions of presentation tools.

All Presentation Software is Broken. Yes, all of it!

Instrumented my RailsConf deck with Google Analytics, and for the first time ever, actually got some actionable metrics and feedback. Now if only we could shift the rest of the community to focus on building useful features in this direction, instead of replicating useless CSS transitions!

Are there any online tools for ordinary people to make HTML presentations?

  2. Haven't explored any tools for HTML presentations yet Able Lawrence - I use Presentations in Google Drive and use the blank canvas instead of the pre-defined layout templates.

  3. If only some body create a web tool with which one (non programmers) can easily create downloadable HTML5/JS presentations, things will catch on sufficiently to kill PowerPoint. One more reason not to use Office.
To me there are only two compelling reasons to use Office at this time which are irreplaceable (though I have licensed copies thanks to my Institute) - Bibliography with Endnote (now that can also be done using OpenOffice but that is no true change) and PowerPoint. Google has sufficient incentive to promote truly such technologies [I do not want to be restricted by the need to connect to google when offline to make presentations]. The capabilities of Impress.js seems to be, well... impressive!
